Not quite comfortable with being referred to as an “artist”, though it is probably an apt description, Jano Myburgh prefers to say he “creates visual pieces that tell stories”.
Myburgh started his career as a commercial and editorial photographer, but during his tenure as part-time lecturer in the arts, he discovered an intrigue for creating more three-dimensional pieces. He currently divides his creative focus between commercial photography, fine art figure study images in the photographic medium and sculptural works utilising a mixture of traditional sculpture techniques combined with modern computer aided design & manufacturing. Aside from his visual creations, Myburgh also runs photographic workshops and lectures part-time in tertiary academia.
